Gabby Campanholle, PhD

I received my bachelor degree in Biomedical Science and my PhD in Immunology in Brazil.

During the first years of my PhD in the Immunology Department at University of Sao Paulo- Brazil, I was working on the lung injury as a consequence of the systemic inflammatory response after a renal ischemia and reperfusion injury.

The last two years of my PhD, I’ve spent working in the Renal Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, focusing in kidney injury, trying to understand the mechanisms of preconditioning and studying the role of epithelial cells in kidney injury.

Now, as a postdoc in Dr. Duffield’s lab, I’m studying the role of macrophages in tissue repair and regeneration.

In my spare time, I love going out and spending time with friends, dancing, watching movies, traveling and exploring new places!
