Takahide Aburatani, PhD

I obtained my PhD degree from University of Tokyo, Japan, during which time I studied antibody engineering. After that I began working for a pharmaceutical company in Japan, and gained experience in compound screening for drug discovery.

More recently, I have developed an interest in understanding the complexity of the vascular system. My research in Duffield Lab focuses on the function of pericytes and endothelial cells, and the roles they play in kidney disease.

I love to spend free time with my family. I especially enjoy trekking the beautiful trails near Seattle.
